The Tunisian Ambassador to Lebanon, Bouraoui Limam, hosted a farewell reception at his residence on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Beirut, attended by a large gathering of political, economic, diplomatic and social figures. During the reception, a number of prominent figures were honored, including AMACO Group Chairman Ali Mahmoud El Abdallah, in recognition of his distinguished relationship with the Ambassador and the Embassy, as well as his efforts to support Lebanese-Tunisian relations. The farewell gathering provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strength of Lebanese-Tunisian relations and the important role that the private sector can play in strengthening bilateral cooperation, alongside the official and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Bouraoui Limam, speaking during the honoring of Ali El Abdallah, said:

“I thank you, my friend, for everything you have done for Tunisia. Ladies and gentlemen, Ali Al Abdallah is one of the Lebanese businessmen who have remained steadfast in their homeland and stayed committed to it, continuing to invest and develop out of their belief in Lebanon and its future, as well as their firm conviction in the importance of developing the national economy. He has always been close to the Tunisian Embassy in Beirut and has worked to strengthen Lebanese-Tunisian relations. He has made significant contributions to enhancing cooperation between the two countries, and I am proud of the friendship that brings us together, just as I am proud of all the close relationships I have built with various political, economic and social figures in Lebanon. Today, through this recognition bestowed upon Mr. Ali Al Abdallah and the other distinguished figures, we are also honoring all the economic figures and private-sector leaders whom we hold in the highest respect and esteem in Lebanon. The relations that connect Tunisia with these figures are a source of pride for us.”

For his part, Ali El Abdallah thanked Ambassador Bouraoui Limam for the initiative and said in his speech:

“Your Excellency the Ambassador, I would first like to express my deep gratitude to Tunisia, which, through your distinguished person, has given us an outstanding diplomat from the renowned Bourguibist school. This school carries with it a distinctive reformist and enlightened legacy based on modernization, equality, the empowerment of people, and the promotion of an open culture founded on education and knowledge. You have embodied this legacy in Lebanon in the best possible way, proving that you are not merely a representative of your country, but a genuine humanitarian and cultural bridge between the two brotherly peoples. This is how good relations between peoples are built.”

El Abdallah added:

“Today, we view Tunisia as a cultural depth and a symbol of modernity and development. We also regard it as a natural partner for Lebanon on its path toward recovery and the building of a modern national state. Your active presence and generous openness toward Lebanon’s various communities will remain deeply engraved in our memory. Being honored today is a personal honor for me, but at the same time, it is a recognition of the strong relations between our two countries and a reaffirmation that the future holds broader prospects for cooperation.”

El Abdallah concluded:

“What brings Lebanon and Tunisia together is not only a history of brotherhood and cooperation, but also broad opportunities for the future. We believe that a genuine partnership is built on practical initiatives, whether through strengthening trade exchange or creating opportunities for joint investment in vital sectors such as industry, technology, tourism, education and other fields. Business here is not merely about economic projects; it is an essential bridge that deepens ties between peoples and transforms diplomatic relations into tangible achievements on the ground. From this perspective, we are confident that our future cooperation will serve as a model to be followed and will contribute to building a more stable and prosperous future for both our countries.

I renew my thanks to Your Excellency and to your esteemed wife, Her Excellency Ambassador Yousra Souidan, who also represents Tunisia in Prague and who embodies nobility, diplomacy and competence. Thank you to Tunisia, thank you to you, and thank you to all our distinguished guests.”
